Abstract :
Uncertainty measurement and risk analysis play a vital role in manufacturing industry where not only monetary and time costs are involved but lives of human beings may also be endangered. Importance analysis is performed to determine the critical actions and to prioritize maintenance tasks. In the present paper, various importance measures for the Reverse Osmosis Plant have been calculated and the probable fault events of Reverse Osmosis Plant have been ranked accordingly. The rankings assigned to various components of Reverse Osmosis plant reflect structural, reliability and criticality importance. These rankings may give guidelines for the selection of optimal structure amongst various models available, for carrying out cost effective maintenance tasks, optimum redundancy allocation and inventory management.
