Abstract :
This paper proposes reliability testing of a novel method developed for acquisition and analysis of acoustic patterns generated by fluids based on spectral analysis techniques that finds a lot of relevance in various fields especially in the field of defence. Existing techniques have various drawbacks that include limitations with acquisition of well defined patterns/peaks. To overcome these drawbacks, we have gathered some success by developing a novel and a simple technique which involves generation of sweep/chirp signal using MATLAB programming and passing it through a medium, further capturing and analysing the received signal using a virtual spectrum analyser. Piezoelectric sensors are used to transmit and receive the signal through the fluid. The arrangement discussed, successfully captures acoustic impressions of passing sweep through tap water and Glucose solution which further exhibits repeatability for all 50 trials taken for both mediums. This has resulted in reliability testing of this low cost system that can quickly acquire specific acoustic patterns for various fluids and provide easy-to-interpret measurement results.
