Abstract :
Three models have been suggested for analysis of reliability of a complex repairable system, namely helicopter operating unit using Weibull distribution. The first model utilizes failure data for assessing reliability of the unit. The second model, in addition to the use of failure data, includes eight input variables and one composite system output for its analysis. The third model adds another parameter COST to the existing list of parameters. Using artificial intelligence techniques, the third model concludes that efficient operations of the system can be realized by maintaining moderate to high levels of daily maintenance index and operating & maintenance personnel indices while minimizing the waiting time when aircraft is on ground due to non availability of spare parts for repairs and/or maintenance.
