Abstract
The cloaking of electrically thin conducting cylinders is experimentally demonstrated. Instead of employing any complex materials (metamaterials) commonly affiliated with cloaking, the cloaking effect is here achieved with a homogeneous dielectric material covering the cloaked metal cylinder. Moreover, the relative dielectric constant of this material is positive and of moderate value, and therefore many conventional dielectrics can be used to obtain the cloaking effect. The proposed technique is experimentally demonstrated by conducting reflection and transmission measurements for a rectangular waveguide with cloaked/uncloaked objects inside it.
