  • Abstract
    This article gives one approach to the implementation of distributed hierarchical control systems for a 120 MW coal-fired boiler at Skelton Grange Power Station. The essential feature has been to determine the functional needs of the hierarchy and define a common software system for the whole hierarchy, but with selectable subsets for inclusion at different levels optimised to their function, as well as handling the inter-processor communication requirements.
