Abstract :
This paper presents a new approach in the calculation of electric and magnetic fields from overhead power transmission lines, when using “A charge Simulation Method ...” [1]. In this case, the analysis of the potential in time, and calculating the instantaneous charges, and the use of instantaneous currents, allows for instantaneous values of the fields. The results obtained by the computer program to calculate the profile of the electric field and magnetic field at ground level of the overhead power line Batalha - Pego 400 kV are compared with measurements made in this line [2]. We may conclude that the simulation on time is more accurate and gives values consistent with reality. The calculation program developed can be used with all possible configurations of the power line. The application of the program to other airlines transmission allows obtaining interesting conclusions on the issue of security and health of people. The simulations suggest good results being confirmed by measurements made on other power lines [2] [3].
