Abstract
Various constraints such as limited Residual Power, Bandwidth and Transmission Range of nodes are the factors that affect the performance of routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks. This paper is dedicated to the study and simulation of effect of these constraints on the performance of MANET Routing Protocol in idealistic environment. For this purpose a simulator is designed using MATLAB-10, that takes these constraints (Power, Bandwidth, and Transmission Range) as an input of varying nature and provide output for three performance metrics(Hop-count, Probability of reach-ability, and Path Length) taken. The simulation results show remarkable impact on the value of Hop-count, Probability of Reach-ability (PoR) and Path Length in correspondence to the variation in the constraints.
