Abstract :
To assist in the conduct of engineering research and to extend and strengthen the field of its graduate work in engineering The University of Illinois maintains fourteen Research Graduate Assistantships in the Engineering Experiment Station; two other such Assistantships are established under the patronage of the Illinois Gas Association. The annual stipend for these is $600, with exemption from all but the matriculation and diploma fees; open to graduates of all American and foreign universities. Nominations are made by the Executive Staff of the Station, and approved by the President of the University. The Engineering experiment Station, organized within the College of Engineering, has been established since 1903 for the study of problems of importance to engineers as well as manufacturing and industrial research work. Its field is almost unlimited in application, embracing all branches of the engineering profession.
