Echo suppressors for long telephone circuits

Shackelton: When any device, which differs as fundamentally from the existing order of things as the echo suppressor is introduced into a working system there will arise problems as to its practical application. To a very large extent these problems have been met in the installation at Harrisburg which is referred to in the paper. It may be profitable to review somewhat the experience obtained in that installation.
