Abstract :
The paper proposes a new and efficient method of solving the Distributed Generation (DG) sitting and sizing problem on the application of Interval arithmetic technique (programming) for balanced radial distribution system power flow analysis. As we aware the fact that the input parameters (loads at different buses, feeder resistance & reactance) are quite uncertain in real and generally assumed to be constant for load flow study. Interval arithmetic (IvP) provides strict bounds for the solution of the problem and takes care of these uncertainties in the input parameters. In this method uncertainties only in the input load parameters are considered. Unlike the other method, the shunt admittances are considered in the proposed method load flow algorithm and the effect of load admittances is also incorporated in the calculation. Two different networks with radial configurations (IEEE 12 & 15 bus) are used to demonstrate the efficiency and convergence pattern of the method.
