Abstract :
An educational method is presented for teaching power system harmonics-related problems in the undergraduate power curriculum. The problems are included in several undergraduate courses such as power system analysis, electric machines, electric power distribution system engineering, power system protection, and power electronics. The facilities in the power laboratory at Clemson University enhance this method of teaching about harmonics-related problems. One of the important facilities consists mainly of a computer-based three-phase harmonic generator, a data acquisition system to process the data digitally, and a computer control system to control the harmonic levels. Examples of the teaching procedure are included
