Abstract
Ecological civilization is a major issue on human survival and development. In today´s society, evaluation of ecological civilization resource-based city, not only for the city´s future, but also for increasing the level of ecological civilization development of the country, is of great significance. The purpose of this paper is to make use of principal component analysis method to establish an index system that can reflect the development of ecological civilization resource-based cities. The research selects the index and data from 29 coal resource-based cities from all over the country in the year 2010 and makes comparative analysis for 29 coal resource cities in China, evaluating the development level of resource-based cities, drawing comprehensive rankings of the ecological civilization. By tests and examples, it is verifying the feasibility of principal component analysis in the evaluation index system of ecological civilization and provides a reference for countries to develop ecological civilization policy.
