Abstract :
A numerical approach for solving the problem of an irregular waveguide partially filled with longitudinally magnetised ferrite is proposed. The approach is a combination of the mode expansion method and the boundary element method. Examples of this kind of waveguide are presented to show the validity and usefulness of this approach. Numerical results agree well with experimental results from the literature. Some useful curves and conclusions are given to make the design of Faraday rotation components easy
