Abstract
An approach is described which utilizes a relational database for data storage, and is accessible directly for computational purposes during different stages of plant design and for maintenance and expansion purposes as the future requires. The stored characteristics of some typical equipment are described, and the additional benefits gained during computational stages by using this approach are explained
