Apparatus and methods for accurate maintenance of large a.c. energy meters

The paper describes the arrangements existing in one wide-spread industrial area for continously accurate metering of large quantities of energy. It details the provisions made for maintenance work and shows how, by means of special apparatus, thorough testing is possible whatever the load conditions. An indication is given of the more usual faults experienced. The cost of maintenance is shown to be an almost negligible percentage of the revenue safeguarded.
