European monetary union: a technological view

The 1st January 1999 has been agreed on as the date to introduce a common European currency. New reasons are found almost daily for postponing the jolt this would bring. Propitious or precipitous, an almost irrevocable decision will be made in mid Europe, and another in London, before then. The author describes how, while a few may have much influence on either, most managers can position themselves to maximise their advantages.
