Abstract :
A review on Viewdata1 written by the author appeared in Electronics & Power in June 1977, just as viewdata was undergoing pilot trials at British Telecom (then the Post Office). Much has happened in this field since that date and many lessons have been learnt and some will, hopefully, have been acted upon. What then are the highlights of the intervening period?
