Abstract :
In this paper, a new mesh modification method for the three-dimensional finite-element analysis is proposed to compute dynamic characteristics of electromagnetic relays that have two or more armatures. This method is applied to a twin-type electromagnetic relay. The effectiveness of this calculation is verified through the comparison between the calculated and the measured results for the static characteristics. Furthermore, the usefulness of this method is shown by applying the method to the computation of the torque and the dynamic characteristics of a twin-type electromagnetic relay
