Abstract
For the simulation of magneto-quasi-static fields with finite integration implicit time domain (FI2TD) and finite integration frequency domain (FIFD) methods, a new technique is introduced which allows an improved geometric modeling of curved shape boundaries while maintaining orthogonal tensor product grids. The reduction of the geometrical error results in higher condition numbers of the linear algebraic systems. The resulting additional computational costs for the solution of these systems are shown to be small. Numerical results for test problems show the improvement of the solution accuracy with the new approach
