Abstract
An attractive way to deal with hysteresis nonlinearity in case of time harmonic excitation of an eddy current problem is to introduce an effective material representing the ferromagnetic material. This fictitious model describes the relationship of the field quantities approximately. Two methods to create an effective magnetization curve on the basis of the Preisach model of different soft magnetic materials are presented. The complex magnetization curves obtained are applied to a simple one-dimensional finite-element model
