Abstract :
This paper deals with the study of the head winding effects of a switched reluctance machine. First, the structure is modeled using a three-dimensional finite-element method (3-D FEM) code calculation based on Whitney´s elements. Hence, we have defined two vectors which allow us to determine the inductances of the machine. Then, the leakage inductances are introduced in a two-dimensional (2-D) FEM (2-D FEM) to study the behavior of a whole controlled 6/4 switched reluctance motor taking into account the static converter and the control strategy. Finally, the calculated results are compared to the experiment
