Abstract
In comparison with the latest advances in microelectronics, small electrolytic capacitors may fairly be described as lacking in glamour. Commonplace, relatively cheap, and deceptively simple in appearance, they nevertheless provide an excellent illustration of the way in which technical development can transform a traditionally unreliable component into one able to meet the most exacting of modern requirements
