Abstract :
Equivalent circuits are developed for use in simulating steep-fronted surge propagation from a circuit breaker to the terminals of a motor. The particular form of the circuits is related to physical structures and the parameters derived from dimensions and the properties of materials. The circuits were validated by comparisons with low-voltage measurements and (EMTP) electromagnetic transients program simulations
