Abstract :
Icicles on the ice-covered insulator string will shorten the air gap between the adjacent sheds of the insulator and make the discharge propagate along the air gap easier. The processes and the leakage current waveforms of the discharge propagation along the air gap are recorded and investigated under two different experimental conditions. The common and different discharge phenomena are shown and compared.
