Abstract
This paper describes a practical case of the design and EMC aspects of a building containing a set of complex and sensitive systems - an Opera house. With the combination of EMC Zone methodology and an EMC Control Plan, EMI risks were identified in the early stage of the installation project and listed for control activities - evading the risk of costly and late mitigation measures. We also find that the abundance of product EMC standards makes the procurement process very difficult. The standards are very diverse both in terms of compliance levels and also in the way these are described. In summary, the EMC standardization structure is impenetrable for a regular electronics engineer and allows for several mistakes in a project.
