Abstract :
A quasi Z source inverter (q-ZSI) is utilized for driving induction motor fed by a standalone PV generator. The q-ZSI let the system to contain an energy storage part without any need for a charging circuit. Predictive torque control (PTC) is used to drive the induction motor because of its fast characteristic. PTC method can consider the variations of the inverter´s input voltage and exert the proper switching state before any deterioration. This method leads to a small, compact, and single stage hardware which is controlled by one processing system. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulations results.
