Harmonic analysis instrumentation to reduce power-system failures

Harmonic distortion of the mains frequency can cause many problems when present in plant power supplies, damaging power-factor-correction equipment and causing repeated circuit-breaker operation and failure in sensitive computer systems. To measure the amount of harmonic distortion present, new simple-to-use dedicated harmonic analysing instruments are now available for use in the laboratory or on site.
