Abstract :
In this paper a novel method for diagnosis and analysis of eccentricity fault in 6 by 4 switched reluctance motor (SRM) with drive is studied. For reach to this goal 6 extra coils (ECs) with low turns are applied. The ECs haven´t electrical connection with phase coils and when motor works flux linkage is inducing in ECs. With measuring this flux linkage in every 6 coils severity and direction of different eccentric faults can be obtained. Two major asymmetrical faults namely as; dynamic eccentricity (DE) and static eccentricity (SE) are detected in this method. Two advantages of this method are on -line detection of faults and diagnosis of fault severity. The obtained results demonstrate useful information as good candidates for fault evaluation as well as the amount of eccentricity fault and the direction of fault occurrence.
