Abstract :
Generally in order to increase the power conversion density of a power electronic converter, the switching frequency is increased. By increasing switching frequency, switching losses increases which limits the achieved power density. Many methods exist which can reduce switching losses. Between these methods, passive lossless snubbers for PWM converters are preferred for their reliability and simplicity of the control circuit. In this paper a passive lossless snubber for boost converter which can provide zero voltage switching condition is introduced. The proposed converter is discussed in details and in order to justify the theoretical analysis a 200W prototype converter is simulated by PSPICE software.
