Abstract :
In this paper the shielding against magnetic fields at frequencies between 1 kHz and 10MHz is investigated. Different methods to calculate the magnetic field inside of closed geometries are compared where three canonical shielding geometries with known analytical solutions are used as numerical benchmarks. By means of a number of examples these benchmark calculations are considered both in frequency and time domain. The results can be taken as reference for EMC modelling software that is used to properly take into account magnetic shielding properties at low frequencies.
