  • Abstract
    Based on a full-wave vectorial analysis, the effects of fiber cores on the coupling characteristics of weakly fused couplers are investigated. We find that prior results based on the rectangular waveguide approximation and the effective index method overestimated the coupling strength and the effects of the cores.
