Abstract :
Under joint management of the national societies of Civil, Mining, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers cooperating with the Western Society of Engineers, The service is available only to their membership, and is maintained as a cooperative bureau by contributions from the societies and their individual members who are directly benefited. Offices: — 31 West 39th St., New York, N. Y., — W. V. Brown, Manager. 53 West Jackson Blvd., Room 1736, Chicago, Ill., A. K. Krauser, Manager. 57 Post St., San Francisco, Calif., N. D. Cook, Manager. MEN AVAILABLE. — Brief announcements will be published without charge but will not be repeated except upon requests received after an interval of one month. Names and records will remain in the active files of the bureau for a period of three months and are renewable upon request. Notices for this Department should be addressed to EMPLOYMENT SERVICE, 31 West 39th Street, New York City, and should be received prior to the 15th day of the month. OPPORTUNITIES. — A Bulletin of engineering positions available is published weekly and is available to members of the Societies concerned at a subscription rate of $3 per quarter, or $10 per annum, payable in advance. Positions not filled promptly as a result of publication in the Bulletin may be announced herein, as formerly. VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS. — Members obtaining positions through the medium of this service are invited to cooperate with the Societies in the financing of the work by contributions made within thirty days after placement, on the basis of one and one-half per cent of the first year´s salary; temporary positions (of one month or less) three per cent of total salary received. The income contributed by the members, together with the finances appropriated by the four societies named above will it is hoped, be sufficient not only to maintain, but to increase and extend the service. REPLIES TO ANNOUNCEMENTS. — Replies to announcement- published herein or in the Bulletin, should be addressed to the key number indicated in each case, with a two cent stamp attached for reforwarding, and forwarded to the Employment Service as above. Replies received by the bureau after the positions to which they refer have been filled will not be forwarded.
