Abstract
In this paper, a novel grid-connected inverter suitable for ac-module applications is presented. The proposed inverter has a two-stage topology in which the first stage is a dc-dc converter that amplifies the PV module low voltage to an adequate level for the second stage. The second stage is a half-bridge inverter. Eliminating the ground leakage current in the PV system, using low number of semiconductor devices and simple structure are specific features of the proposed inverter. The theoretical analysis and principles of circuit operation of this inverter are discussed and simulation results are presented. The simulation results confirm the aforementioned advantages of the proposed PV-inverter.
