Abstract :
The authors have proposed and realised a new polarisation-independent optical isolator based on anti-symmetric field conversion which does not need expensive birefringent crystals. A peak isolation of 45 dB and an insertion loss of 1 dB in the 1.5 μm wavelength region were obtained
