Abstract :
Authors through this research paper provides an overview on a single user friendly platform which can be used to automate the process of testing of a given dc motor for various analyses like determination of speed-torque characteristics, calculation of losses, and estimation of efficiency and can also work as dc motor speed controller. The embedded platform has been developed using an interface hardware based on AVR microcontroller, a data acquisition card, control modules and a graphical programming environment. The developed framework is capable of analyzing all the types of dc motors with different ratings and at various loading conditions. The results presented in this paper carry the potential to benchmark the performance of dc motor for dc motor manufactures and quality sensitive users.
