  • Abstract
    A high performance shield structure which will prevent the leakage of intermediate frequency magnetic fields from equipment generating strong magnetic fields in this frequency range is desired. In this paper, a shield structure including a joint is considered because practical shield enclosure and shield room have joint to facilitate construction. A conventional shield rooms do not have high shielding performance for intermediate magnetic field. We aim at shielding effectiveness (SE) improvement by installing magnetic materials around the joint used in a conventional shield room. The SE improvement attributable to these magnetic materials is confirmed by 3-D magnetic field analysis and experiment.
