Engineering societies employment service

Under joint management of the national societies of Civil, Mining, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as a cooperative bureau available only to their membership, and maintained by contributions from the societies and their individual members who are directly benefited. MEN AVAILABLE. — Brief announcements will be published without charge and will not be repeated, except upon requests received after an interval of one month. Names and records will remain in the active files of the bureau for a period of three months and are renewable upon request. Notices for this Department should be addressed to EMPLOYMENT SERVICE, 33 West 39th Street, New York City, and should be received prior to the 15th of the month. OPPORTUNITIES. — A Bulletin of engineering positions available is published weekly and is available to members of the Societies concerned at a subscription rate of $3 per quarter, or $10 per annum, payable in advance. Positions not filled promptly as a result of publication in the Bulletin may be announced herein, as formerly. VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS. — Members obtaining positions through the medium of this service are invited to cooperate with the Societies in the financing of the work by nominal contributions made within thirty days after placement, on the basis of $10 for all positions paying a salary of $2000 or less per annum; $10 plus one per cent of all amounts in excess of $2000 per annum; temporary positions (of one month or less) three per cent of total salary received. The income contributed by the members, together with the finances appropriated by the four societies named above, will, it is hoped, be sufficient, not only to maintain, but to increase and extend the service.
