Abstract :
An exactly solvable discrete-time model with multiplexed truncated heavy-tail sources is used to investigate queueing behaviour in a network multiplexer as a function of both source number N and the subexponential behaviour of individual sources. In particular, the model illustrates the large N asymptotic description for the waiting time probabilities in such multiplexers
