Abstract
Jack S. Kilby, an engineering consultant based in Dallas, TX, is arguably one of the most important figures in late twentieth-century electrical history. Dr. Kilby here shares his perspective on the history of the semiconductor industry, a perspective that is unique because of his participation in the early development of the integrated circuit at Texas Instruments. He is widely recognized as one of the integrated circuit´s co-inventors and subsequently participated in the building of the microelectronics manufacturing industry in the United States.
