Abstract
Innovation and invention has been generally recognized as essential for sustainable economic growth and development. Different from an invention or a discovery, innovation generally relates to the transformation of inventions or discoveries into products, processes, or organizations that change how the world works, how people organize themselves, and how they conduct their lives or alter their perception of society. As applied to health care, innovations across all aspects of patient care and case management will be critical to overcoming the challenges faced by health-care systems in providing safe, effective, accessible, and affordable high-quality health care for patients.
