Abstract :
The reduction of intensity noise and distortion in a semiconductor laser by feedforward compensation is reported. The intensity noise has been reduced by more than 10 dB over the frequency range 1.7-3.0 GHz. In addition, a simultaneous reduction in second harmonic distortion and third-order intermodulation distortion has been observed.
