Abstract :
An improved systolic array for realising a second-order recursive digital filter derived directly from its transfer function is presented. Compared to previously presented arrays, the realisation of this new systolic array is no longer circumlocutory. Thus the new array has the advantage of no restriction of b1 not=0 as for the Lin array and Kwan array. It further reduces the hardware and response time, while maintaining the regularity and high throughput rate.
