Abstract :
A simple optical technique for detecting biphase coded signals using an acousto-optic cell is presented. It is shown that the response of the system agrees well with predicted results. The system described operates at frequencies around 50 MHz but acousto-optic cells with bandwidths of the order of 1 GHz are available.
