Abstract :
Offshore wind energy is expected to be the substitute of the fossil energies as its renewable and clean characteristics. The integration of large-scale offshore wind power is the new challenge for power system plan and operation. As the new characteristics, the connection technology for large offshore wind energy is the newly research area. This paper will focuses on the available methods of integration for offshore wind energy. Several integration technologies will be reviewed for collection system and transmission system. Then the investment will be assessed. A case of 500MW offshore wind farm planning will be studied in detail.
