Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method which is constituted by only one single sensor and variable step-size method. The proposed method in this paper decreases the cost and the complexity with the application of the single sensor. And, a novel variable step-size method which could reform the shortcoming of the traditional variable step-size method is presented. The TMS320F2407 DSP chip is used as the digital control module. From the simulation and experimental results, the proposed method could be proved to achieve the rapid tracking capability and stable output in the severe irradiation change. Furthermore, the cost and complexity of the solar system could also be effectively decreased.
