Abstract :
A simple method of synthesising the radiation pattern of an array feed for a reflector antenna is presented. It forms the initial stage in the design of an integrated array-feed/LNA/RF front-end subsystem for a low-cost receive-only terminal for domestic satellite communications. Results show that a high illumination efficiency and a low spillover loss may be achieved with a 4×4-element planar array
