Abstract
Harmonic torque control using current profiling has been implemented for constant mean torque production and cogging torque cancellation in brushless permanent magnet motor drives. Most conventional methods require Fourier series analysis and either iterative or least squares minimization methods are usually used to achieve optimal output torque. In this paper, an alternative approach based on instantaneous power theory is analyzed. Simulation studies and experimental results verify the advantages of the proposed method
