Abstract :
The first DWDM transmission in the O-band over photonic crystal fibre (PCF) by using an optical frequency comb based multicarrier source is realised. Fifteen carriers were generated with a 50 GHz spacing in the O-band by using an optical frequency comb technique and extraction with a Fabry-Perot filter. 10 times 15 Gbit/s DWDM signals were successfully generated over a 24 km PCF with a low power penalty.
