Abstract :
The characteristics of a circular patch microstrip antenna with a top-loaded monopole feed are investigated. Air is used as the dielectric substrate. The distance between the radiating patch and ground plane is ~0.15λ0. The patch is excited in the TM01 mode. An impedance bandwidth (SWR<2) of 50% and an average gain of 5dBi are obtained
