Abstract
A novel receiver-end coupling matrix estimation (RCME) method is proposed, which exploits characteristics of the antenna arrays whose elements are closely equispaced. In the RCME process, all of antenna elements are divided into groups, following the rule that antenna elements in the same group are approximately uncoupled. Each group is switched on and off in a specific order. The RCME result is derived from a series of channel estimation results, which does not require extra known parameters except training sequences. This RCME method can be applied to various antenna arrays and is robust to scattering in radio propagation.
